12 Porter Street Factory Redevelopment Taunton, MA

Currently in its second year, the 12 Porter Street Redevelopment Project has five distinct phases. The first two, involving environmental testing and site cleanup, have been completed. Comprehensive testing of the buildings, soil, and groundwater was conducted by licensed site professionals and hygienists. This was followed by removing identified contaminants consistent with the guidelines promulgated by the MA Department of Environmental Protection.

We are currently in the project’s design phase, which includes creating site plans, engineering designs, city approval processes, and architectural plan development. The final two phases will proceed concurrently.

  • Restoration of the Main Factory and Rattler Buildings into residential housing.
  • Preserving the chimney to stand as a historic reminder of the site’s past,

Original Building Layout

Buildings 2, 4, 5, and 7 have been razed. Buildings 1 and 3 will be restored into housing units. Building 6 will be relocated offsite.
